By" Sparking" imagination and kicking creativity into high gear at SFCC's Vacation Bible School this summer, we will help kids explore how they are created and designed for God's purpose! We will explore many art forms throughout the week including visual arts, music, dance, theater, and perhaps even culinary arts too! Each daily Bible story will show how God’s creativity didn’t stop in Genesis. The Master Artist is working to redeem, reclaim, and transform us. Kids will see the beautiful truth that they are God’s artistry as they learn to use their talents to bring glory to God. In addition we plan to have real guest artists come to share their talents with us each day! The half-day camp runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday. at South Freeport Congregational Church 9:00 am to 12:00 noon each day! Day 1: Monday, June 26 Bible Point: God is the marvelous Creator. Key Bible Verses: "How countless are your works, Lord! In wisdom you have made them all; the earth is full of your creatures." (Psalm 104:24) “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 (New Living Translation) Bible Story: David praised God the Creator. (Acts 13:21-23; Psalm 104) Day 2: Tuesday, June 27 Bible Point: God uniquely designed us for his purpose. Key Bible Verse: "Humans do not see what the Lord sees, for humans see what is visible. But the Lord sees the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7b) Bible Story: God prepared David to be a King. (1 Samuel 16) Day 3: Wednesday, June 28 Bible Point: Jesus is the king that God promised to save us. Key Bible Verse: "Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the hightest heaven!" (Matthew 21:9b) Bible Story: The people welcomed Jesus. (Psalm 118:26; Acts 13:21-23; Matthew 21:1-11) Day 4: Thursday, June 29 Bible Point: Jesus died and rose again. Key Bible Verse: "He also said to them, "This is what is written: the Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead the third day." (Luke 24:46) Bible Story: Jesus fulfilled God's plan. (Luke 23:13-25, 44-56; 24:1-12, 36-49) Day 5: Friday, June 30 Final Celebration will be at 11:45 am! Bible Point: God sent the Holy Spirit. Key Bible Verse: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8) Bible Story: The Holy Spirit gives us the power to follow God's plan (Acts 1:4-14; Acts 2) Each day kids will take home tokens with the daily bible point and story verse to help them remember. Every camper will take home a goody bag of great resources at the end of the week. Ages 5 (or so) and up are welcome! Older kids are encouraged to come and help out too!
